Cookie

Cookie

shd - female - 7 months and 4 weeks

Cookie is a pure white female kitten who came into care from the pound with another 8 kittens. She was raised with 4 mixed litters – at one stage a total of 13 kittens! - so she clearly would suit a home with other felines.

Cookie is a small boned cute little girl, but this doesn’t stop her playing with her boisterous feline family. She also loves to snuggle up and sleep with the others, and, when they let her, enjoys grooming them too.

Cookie loves her humans just as much; she can be a little shy with strangers to begin with, but ultra smoochie once she gets to know and trust you. Of course, she’s a smart Cookie, too. Even 100% litter trained right from the start.

Cookie is an indoor-only cat, which is particularly important for such a pure white kitty. Not fussy with her food and very quiet: all in all a perfect addition to a family – or anyone, really, provided she is loved and cuddled. Given her busy foster environment, though, she probably would be lonely if left alone for long periods. Of course, Cookie would make a great companion for other cats.

Cookie is microchipped, vaccinated and de-sexed.

If you’d like to arrange to meet this pretty girl at her Hoxton Park foster home, please contact her carer, Karen, on 0416 094 697.

Cookie has been in foster care since 29 December 2018, for 5 months

Diesel

Diesel

shd - male - 7 months and 4 weeks

Black cats bring you luck!
Diesel is an attractive, shiny black haired boy, although he is a really a red head in disguise - when basking in the sunlight ginger stripes shine through! He was rescued along with a ‘lucky dip’ of another 8 kittens which had found their way to the Pound. He now lives in a foster home with 10 kittens and gets along well with all of them.

He loves his fur friends to the extent he hugs and mothers the other cats in the house. Diesel can’t wait to join in with any pats going, and head butts humans and felines alike. In fact, he also rather likes to eat their food and use their litter box.

Diesel is ultra affectionate with people. Quite a character, he’s outgoing and vocal and, strangely, loves to play in water. Other quirks include drinking tea with a drop of milk – out of a mug, and that he sometimes forgets to put his tongue back in his mouth. He does, also, love his food.

Diesel would bring entertainment and joy to the family, single or couple who adopt him. He is an indoor-only kitty, and would no doubt love some feline company and maybe a dog too.

Diesel is microchipped, vaccinated and de-sexed.
He is welcoming visits from possible furever families at his foster home in Hoxton Park. Please call or text his carer, Karen, to arrange a meet and greet.

Diesel has been in foster care since 29 December 2018, for 5 months

Winter

Winter

Siberian Husky - female - 7 years and 2 months

Winter is a beautiful 7 year old female Siberian husky.

She has been surrended due to owner not being able to give her to the attention she needs.

Winter is a gorgeous girl who loves attention from her carers, but not necessarily younger ambitious puppies who want to play with her. She's a complete sook around humans and would happily sit by your side all day.

She's not particularly active, but gets excited when it's walk time or to go for a ride in the car. Winter is terribly overweight, so her new owner should be willing to spend the time in providing her the adequate exercise she requires, although it will be slow going, as she tires easily.

She's protective of her food and will growl if another dog goes near her food or disturbs her peace but I haven't found her to be snappy at her foster carer. She's absolutely fine at the dog park and doesn't pay attention to the other dogs, but will mostly just sit instead of running around.

She has been surrendered with Caesar, who has been with her for the past 4 years. We believe Winter can be adopted by herself, but it would be good for her to have a companion if you already have another husky or to be adopted along with Caesar.

Due to her age, Winter does have some health issues:
Arthritis. Although her weight won't help here, with exercise you may find she will improve. We've also been mixing in "Aging Dog" powder to give her the vitatmins she needs.

Fly blown ears (although this is being treated with a repellent and improvements happening).
Cloudy eyes - the vets have advised this is not cataract and whilst it looks bad, she does have great eye-sight even though it may be a bit cloudy for her.

Winter would not be suitable with a house with smaller animals such as cats, rabbits or guinea pigs.

If you would like to meet Winter, please contact us to meet the beautiful old girl.

Winter has been in foster care since 17 May 2019, for 1 month

Camden

Camden

Domestic Short Hair - female - 3 years and 8 months

Abandoned and rescued as a shy one year old, Camden has grown into a beautiful young adult with striking markings. Needing less attention now she is no longer a kitten, Camden may well fit in with a working person or couple, as easily as she could love an entire family.

Camden loves treats, and sleeping in her little pot with her baby beanie boo possum. She can be shy, but loves affection when she’s in the zone! She likes plenty of cuddles and loves to have a good belly rub, as well as playing, laying in the sun, and chasing things. Oh, and she has a great appetite.

Camden’s speciality is head butting and purring, and she really enjoys being with her human foster family. But, now she really would like to have her own family, so that in a short time this little girl can love you unconditionally.

Camden is already de-sexed, and is up to date on all her vet requirements.

If you’d like to arrange to meet Camden at her Narellan foster home, please contact her carer, Christine - on 0413 317 481.

Camden has been in foster care since 07 September 2016, for 2.8 years

Bella and Jersey

Bella and Jersey

Smooth and Rough Collies - female - 13 years and 5 months

These two girls were originally adopted through DCH in 2006 and with great sadness, the owner is now surrendering the pair back to us due to health complications. Bella and Jersey 13yo bonded pair, rough and smooth collies
Bella and Jersey grew up together and share a very deep and special connection. They are very supportive of one another and a loving pair. They have different personalities that compliment each other. Both dogs are rather oblivious to other dogs, their socialising days are behind them. A "hello" sniff will suffice. They like bothering the cats, although, they'll never catch them! These two are very easy to look after as long as you give them love, attention and daily walks. They are smart and wise and a simple request will have them go to bed, finish their food or respect the house rules. They are house trained and will hold it until they are outside.
They have adapted really well and fast to their foster carer's home and never have been moody, upset nor unpleasant.

Jersey (the ginger one) is the most active of the 2. She loves going for walks (with or without Bella) and is particularly caring. She will come check on all family members to make sure they are ok and obviously, get cuddles. She is not a big eater but enjoys treats and sits on command. Very good on the lead and gentle. She will bury her head in your elbow and make funny happiness noises when joyful! The vet was impressed with her health and general state: she does not look her age! She might have issues seeing well in the dark and is cautious of dark places such as building entrances or underground passages - but who isn't!!!

Bella (the grey/white one) is in charge and her hip arthritis will not stop her chasing the cats! Although she has to take it easy and slow (very slow!), she loves going for short walks and rolling herself in the grass! She enjoys a good meal... and needs to pay attention to her waistline! Bella's condition does not affect her personality. She is a loving dog, enjoying retirement and giving all the love she has.

Bella and Jersey only want a little haven to enjoy their retirement together and be part of the family. Their adoption fee together is $250. If you'd like to meet these lovely old girls, please contact Jo on 0401 900 696‬.

Bella and Jersey has been in foster care since 23 January 2019, for 5 months

Cash

Cash

Staffy X Great Dane X Border C - male - 1 year and 2 months

Hello everyone, my name is Cash and I have just turned 1! I am a crossbreed boy who is a mix of Staffy, Border Collie and Great Dane. We didn't know if Great Dane was true but I've grown into a big boy, so I think it must be! I have grown up with other dogs, cats and kittens so I'm totally happy with all of them, and I'm really gentle and love love! I'm also super loyal and super smart. But with big does come strong, and so I do need help controlling my energy, sadly this is my flaw, so my new home would be best not to have young children, and even better if you have another dog! It really makes me feel just next level awesome to have another dog around me, so that would be wonderful.
I'm all up-to-date on all my vet work, and I'm super healthy, I'd really love to meet you if you think I could join your family! Please call Rod, my coordinator, on 0418 239763 if you'd like to say hi! Bye for now, love Cash.

Cash has been in foster care since 25 July 2018, for 11 months

Amelia

Amelia

Domestic Medium Hair - female - 3 years

Amelia is a beautiful girl, now coming up to 3 years old, with a lovely possum type fluffy tail. She came to us last year from a Sydney pound shortly after having kittens, but, sadly, her kittens were not brought in with her.

Amelia was a scared little girl when she arrived, but has always purred well, and loves pats – she just tells you when she’s had enough! She does currently prefer being with the other cats she’s in care with, so her new owners may need to be patient as she settles back in to the life she deserves.

An indoor-only cat, Amelia would suit a single or couple, or a family with older children. As a young adult, she is beyond kitten stage so is quite independent and needs less playtime than a young kitty. We have noticed she didn’t take to the carer’s dog.

Amelia arrived with cat flu which has been treated with medication; she has now received two F3 vaccinations. She is also microchipped, wormed and de-sexed.

If you would like to meet Amelia, at her Quakers Hill foster home, Please contact her carer, Ben. You will be able to get to know and play with Amelia. There a variety of other felines you can visit there too!

Amelia has been in foster care since 12 September 2018, for 9 months

Penny

Penny

Domestic Short Hair - female - 3 years

Penny is a very special lady. She came into our care around 7 months ago when found abandoned in a cage together with her tiny babies. A great mum to her own kittens, Ivy and Rosebud, she took up the challenge her carer offered – to feed and nurture 7 other stray kittens at the same time!

After this heroic effort, and with all 9 kittens fully grown, we feel it’s time for this lovely kitty to be rewarded with being thoroughly spoilt by her own furever family.

Penny is a pretty grey tortoiseshell, and still playful and inquisitive. She has proven to be a sweet and affectionate feline companion who loves spending time with her human family. Of course, she has had plenty of experience living with kittens, and another cat, but has also very happily lived alongside a dog in her foster home.

Now nearly 3 years old, Penny doesn’t require constant attention – just to be loved - so is likely to fit in with most family circumstances. She has been an indoor-only cat since she has been in our care and would prefer to stay so given her previous experience of the outdoors.

Penny is microchipped, vaccinated and de-sexed. If you would like to visit Penny in her foster home located near Windsor, please contact her carer, Debbie, on 0405 144 415.

Penny has been in foster care since 29 August 2018, for 9 months

Abby (Einstein)

Abby (Einstein)

DSH - female - 9 months

Abby was found as a little kitten behind a warehouse together with 3 siblings, but no mother. She has proved to be a very smart, outgoing little girl ever since she came into care, so we just had to nickname her Einstein.

Abby is certainly the most adventurous of the 4 siblings, caring for and leading her little brothers around. She lives very harmoniously with a further half dozen kittens care, and has also had exposure to a Kelpie dog - under supervision.

Quiet and uncomplaining, Abby can be a little shy at the start, but becomes ultra smoochie once she has time to know people. She has a very sweet nature and loves to sleep on her carer’s bed at night.

An indoor-only kitty, Abby is very happy with her humans and her furry friends. She will be a delightful addition to her new furever family.

Abby is microchipped, vaccinated and de-sexed.

Please text or call her carer, Karen to arrange to visit Abby at her foster home in Hoxton Park.

We are also looking for sponsorship for Abby because her treatment for an infected cyst resulted in vet costs of $350. Abby has recovered fully and swiftly, with no ongoing issues.

Abby (Einstein) has been in foster care since 03 November 2018, for 7 months
