Kelpie cross Staffy - female - 8 months and 2 weeks

Stella is a lovely young red Staffy x Kelpie who has recently been rescued from a country pound. She is currently a little timid, especially around new men, but once she gets to know you her beautiful nature comes out. At 8 months old she is still quite young and would benefit from obedience training and patience from her new family to help her develop and feel comfortable in her own nature. She is currently in care with a larger and older dog, and interacts with him very well. Whilst she is getting used to the lead, primarily because her surroundings intimidate her, she is very well behaved in the car when travelling. She has recently been taken in the car for a swim in the river with her new family, and absolutely loved the water. Stella is unlikely to grow in size but she is quite skinny at the moment, and so will fill out. She currently weighs around 15kg, but is likely to be closer to 20kg when she is back to her healthy state.
Currently she is being kept inside and outside, sleeping inside at night, which has been really beneficial for her with getting used to her surroundings. It would be great if she could go to a home where she could continue to sleep inside.
Stella has had her first vaccinations and is booked into be desexed in the next few weeks, so she will be able to go to her new home after all this has happened. However, she would love to meet her potential new family! Get in touch to learn a bit more about her!

Stella has been in foster care since 05 March 2019, for 2 weeks

Beagle/Beaglier - male - 8 years and 9 months

Meet delightful Scooby; an 8 year old Beagle/Beaglier who is a ball of energy. With good looks and sweet gentle nature, the first suitable prospective owner will fall in love with him straight away.

Scooby previously was owned by a lovely lady who found herself having to care for her father and because she worked a full time job, had less time to give Scooby so unselfishly surrendered him into DCH care. He travelled for 2 hours to get to me and when I approached the car his tail was wagging..

Scooby is a delightful youthful boy weighing in at around 20 kilos. He has a beautiful coat and is used to spending his days outside. It is clear he just loves human company and gets along with 2 older dogs in his current foster home. He loves laying on the tiled floor to keep his tummy cool and also loves his tummy tickled and legs massaged.

On walks, Scooby walks well on the lead, does not pull excessively and approaches other dogs and says hi and also loves dog parks. There's not
a nasty bone in Scooby's body.

If you'd like to meet Scooby please contact his carer Fiona by e-mail or call on the phone number below.

Scooby has been in foster care since 13 March 2019, for 1 weeks

Corgi cross - male - 2 years

This little guy is Nacho. He is an approximately 2 year old Corgi cross who was recently rescued from a country pound and is now in care. Nacho has a keen appetite, and is in the process of gaining a little bit of weight as he is on the skinny side. He loves cuddles, and is a very gentle boy.
Since being in care Nacho can't get enough love from his carer, and sometimes can bark if left outside for periods of time to get their attention. As such, Nacho would suit someone with a good routine he can get into, and would be great if he could sleep inside as well. He walks really well on the lead, and weighs around 15kg so isn't a big boy at all, so he is easy to handle.
Nacho will be vaccinated and desexed in the coming week and will then be ready for adoption - in the meantime, get in touch to meet this gentle young boy.

Nacho has been in foster care since 04 March 2019, for 2 weeks

DSH - female - 2 months

Ruby is the prettiest girl. She LOVES to play, and has now realised we are the best place to find the best play time! When she gets tired she starts to be around you even more, and comes right up around you legs and will chase your hands so you keep stroking her. She gets along well with her foster brother, Tigger, but also isn't afraid to tell him if she wants her food all to herself, or if its her toy at that point! But it seems to be situational, because they play and sleep together for the rest of the day. Ruby is still a young girl at only around 6 weeks old, and she still has her veterinary work to be done before she can be adopted, but in that time she would love to meet people who are potentially going to be her forever family! If that could be you, please call Gemma on 0435 939858.

Ruby has been in foster care since 28 February 2019, for 3 weeks

Dsh - female - 4 months and 2 weeks

The beautiful Cuddles, now 4 months old, was rescued from the street together with her sibling just after Christmas, and has since thrived in DCH care.

Although initially a little shy, Cuddles now gets along famously with her carer’s children, and shows lots of love and affection to whoever she meets. True to her name, she is the cuddliest snuggle bug there is. She also lives happily with the resident cats in her foster home.

Cuddles just demands you give her love and affection by rubbing her head on your leg, arm, and even sometimes your face… until you give in, sit down and pet her until she has had enough (which is never). She does also like to play with her kitty sibling, but is a mellow girl who would rather cuddle and sleep under her humans’ chin, or on a shoulder or lap.

As she is well socialised within a family, Cuddles would be suited - and is sure to bring much love - to a furever family. Equally, she will make a great lap cat for a single or couple. She is an indoor-only kitty.

Cuddles is microchipped, vaccinated and already de-sexed. Her sister has just been re-homed so it’s definitely time for her to find her own permanent home.

If you’d like to arrange to meet the lovely Cuddles at her Schofield foster home, please call Daphne on 0416 421 870.

Cuddles has been in foster care since 09 January 2019, for 2 months

domestic short hair - female - 2 months and 2 weeks

What a gorgeous girl Tigger has turned out to be ....she was found dumped in a park at 4 weeks of age with her sisters , luckily a good samaritan found them and handed them over to rescue .

Tigger is everything a kitten should be ...playful , affectionate, loving, and a little bit crazy with some confidence added in.She is more than comfortable around the resident dogs and isn't bothered by the 3 resident adult cats.

Tigger would suit just about all households.

Who will be the lucky person to adopt this little gem ???

She loves her food and uses the litter tray like a champ.

Tigger has had her first vaccination ..has been wormed.. microchipped and flea treated.
Her adoption fee will cover de-sexing when she is old enough at one of our many approved vets

Tigger has been in foster care since 13 March 2019, for 1 weeks

Very smart outgoing little girl, hence her nickname. She is certainly the most adventurous of the 4 siblings we rescued, leading her little brothers around.

Abby is very happy with her humans and her furry foster friends. She will be a delightful addition to her new family.

Abby is microchipped, vaccinated and up to date with all treatments. Her adoption fee includes de-sexing.

Please contact us to arrange to visit Abby at her foster home in Hoxton Park.

Update: Poor Abby has developed a large cyst that anti-biotics failed to clear up and she's had to have surgery to clean it out. These additional vet fees have come to $357. Thankfully she will make a full recovery with no ongoing issues expected.
