Archer

Archer

Thoroughbred gelding

Archer is about 16.2hh, and a lovely, quiet boy, who follows his owner around like a puppy. He is easy handle, float, worm, shoe, good with dogs, great with little kids, and does not spook easily (not scared of kangaroos). He would suit pleasure or pony club. Archer needs an experienced home where he will be ridden regularly and by someone who can continue his education.

Cinders

Cinders

mare

Cinders is a pretty pony mare who has taught my daughter to ride, but is now sadly outgrown. Prior to that she faithfully served her former family, taking their children from beginner through to advanced PC, Sporting and Hacking classes.

She is ready to enjoy a well-earned retirement, and would make an ideal companion horse. She can be ridden and handled by small children and is unflappable. She would be suitable for the occasional pony ride for the grand kids or toddler in the family but not constant work.

Cinders has been regularly wormed and vaccinated and her feet and teeth are in good condition. She is 12.2hh Cinders is available for $500neg

Billy

Billy

Bay Gelding

Update 22/5/08: Sadly Billy has just been diagnosed with cancer. We are working with vets to see what can be done for Billy and what treatments will be his best option. Billy is a beautifully natured horse with a no fuss attitude. Billy was surrendered into the organisation as the previous owners were unwilling to treat his sarcoid and felt he was ugly. Since being on better pastures and mineral supplements the sarcoids have halved in size. We are seeking sponsorship to help pay for treatments and vitamin supplements to treat Billy's sarcoid. Update 22/5/08: Sadly Billy has just been diagnosed with cancer. We are working with vets to see what can be done for Billy and what treatments will be his best option. If you can help sponsor some of these vet bills then please call Megan on 9627 2767 or email dchanimaladoptions@iprimus.com.au Thank you to Bill Gibson Fencing (http://billgibsonfencing.com.au) for sponsoring 6 months of Billy's medication

Billy was adopted on 01 February 2009 after 9 months in foster care

Chunk

Chunk

Standardbred Gelding

Chunk

Chunk is 16.1hh. He recently finished racing and is currently being broken in and is going extremely well. He's kind and responsive but needs more time to increase his confidence. He's trotting circles and going calmly over trot poles at the moment, has just started canter work. Chunk is available to a home experienced in starting horses under saddle who can further his education

Chunk was adopted on 27 January 2009 after 9 months in foster care

Bliss

Bliss

Thoroughbred Mare

Bliss is a very pretty, kind-natured mare. She is 15.3hh and an excellent doer. Bliss has had basic education, rounding nicely at the walk and trot but needs an experienced rider. She has excellent bloodlines, her sire being Desert Style out of Ireland. Bliss was involved in a serious floating accident making her nervous in confined spaces and sometimes in unfamiliar surrounds. She has overcome her fear of being floated and responds well to calm, consistent handling. Bliss is available for $1,000 to an experienced home only

Bim

Bim

Thoroughbred Gelding

Bim raced till he was eight and then was a lovely riding horse for many years after that. He's too old to ride now, but would make a very good companion horse or family pet. He is a sweet natured and gentlemanly old man who is easy to catch, handle, worm, do feet, teeth etc and he has been kept wormed, with teeth and feet trimmed regularly. He is still quite sprightly and canters down for his feed twice a day and needs a loving home with lots of cuddles and attention. He is safe around children

our first child (now 14) learned to walk holding onto his legs!. I am desperate to find him a kind home.

located in Medowie, NSW Bim is available for $300

Boo

Boo

Welsh x

~15 years

Boo is a sweet little pony, 13.1hh. She has been well educated, she used to be a childs pony and has done PC in the past, however she has suffered abuse since then and is now very unsure and nervous. Boo needs to gain trust in her owner to be happy. She needs an experienced home that will work through her fear of being handled. If you can offer a retirement home for her as a companion horse, or you feel that you have a solution and can provide the careful, patient handling and training that this pony needs, please email us for further info.

Boo was adopted on 22 December 2008 after 2.4 years in foster care

Dillon

Dillon

Stockhorse x Appaloosa Gelding

Dillon is a stunning-looking, strong, solid horse. He's about 16.1hh and is possibly part draft. Dillon is kind-natured and good to handle, but has been badly abused in the past. He is afraid of being mounted and will not accept a rider. Dillon is looking for a home where someone has the patience to work slowly and calmly with him to accept being ridden again. POA. Dillon is located near Canberra, ACT

Dillon was adopted on 08 December 2008 after 1.4 years in foster care

Bess

Bess

Thoroughbred x Mare

Bess is a lovely-looking mare, about 15hh high with a natural black colour. She is really sweet-natured, quiet, friendly and good to handle. Bess has not been broken to saddle, and has previously been used as a brood mare. She is very good around dogs and used to being handled by kids.

Maverick

Maverick

bay gelding

Private Horse

Maverick is a gorgeous QH type gelding. He is a very good doer and needs an owner that is aware of his diet and won't let him get too fat and risk founder, (he currently requires a dirt yard with very low cal roughage hay, for part of the day). Maverick has not been ridden since Oct 2005. He has possibly been abused in the past and would be best suited as a companion horse, babysitter or pet. He would need someone who has experience retraining horses with behavioral problems if someone was to try to retrain him as a riding horse.

Maverick was adopted on 10 April 2008 after 11 months in foster care
