Bellie came to us a few years ago as a very emotionally damaged cat due to the severe abuse he had endured.
He has come along way since then & will sit on your lap, especially when it is cold. He also loves to curl up on the lounge.
He is great at catching rodents & would make an excellent farm cat where he could go inside & outside whenever he wanted to.
He will need to have outside access available to him as he absolutely panics if he thinks he is cornered as that it what happened when he was
being captured to be tortured.
Bellie would love to be able to sit on the verandah with a loving owner & watch the sun go down.
He would only be a suitable cat for someone who understands behaviour management problems with cats & is happy to continue his
journey to recovery which he has been having with us.

Due to severe abuse when a small kitten he has had to have the majority of his tail amputated. This has not affected him at all and he will have no lasting effects from this. Frank is not keen on being left on his own so would make an ideal companion for another playful cat. He is fully litter trained but would probably not suit an indoor only life.

Mickey was born in the pound and was taken into care with his mum and brothers and sister when he was 2 days old. (His brother, Malcolm is also looking for a new home.) He adores his brother as well as the other cats he lives with. He seems a little shy at first but soon comes around and loves to be patted. He has a loud purr. As he is predominately white, he needs to be protected from the sun so he is more an indoors cat and doesn’t wish to roam. He would make a great pet but would prefer a quiet home as he is not used to a noisy household. He has been in care for nearly 1½ years.

Desiree grew up a shop cat, and was sent to the pound to be put to sleep when the new shop owners didn't want her anymore. Despite having no fixed abode she's very used to being handled and comes when called. She really is very sweet and friendly to people she knows she can trust. She will pretty much always find a way to be in the same room as you as she likes the company, and although she's not a lap cat, she will cuddle up next to you and enjoy a long head rub.
Desi loves being both an inside and outside cat. Mostly she's happy indoors, but likes to be able to pop outside every now and then. She doesn't really like other cats and is easily stressed by them, so for this reason it would be best if she went to a home with no other animals. As long as she is the only pet in the household, however, she is a happy, delightful girl to have around.

She is litter trained. .. A really good eater and not at all fussy.
Loves being brushed although not an overly affectionate/smoochy cat at first, but when she lets you she loves her pats & scratches. A bit weary of humans approaching at first although doesn’t mind being around you.
Prue loves exploring & sitting on the window sills watching the world, she’s very quiet & well behaved young lady.

Anton is a gentle soul who likes to chill out around the house. He is friendly (
sometimes a little shy at first with strangers) and L-O-V-E-S to be brushed.
Anton likes other cats, and it would be great if he could be rehomed with an existing
cat to encourage him to continue exercising. When Anton first came into care he weighed
a whopping 11kg, but has slimmed down to 9kgs. It turns out he is addicted to food,
so will need to stay on a strict diet until he reaches 6kg which is his ideal weight.
His carer can tell you all about his simple yet effective feeding plan. He is currently
both an inside and outside cat and he would love a secure backyard to play in and explore.
Anton isn't a lap cat, but enjoys pats and sitting next to you on the couch. He is a very
friendly boy, but would prefer a home with adults only as when he gets annoyed he tends to
hiss - harmless but scary since he is so big! Anton is litter trained and ready for his new home now.

Milkshake

Milkshake is a lovely, happy cat with beautiful facial marking and
ultra soft fur. She loves her food and especially loves getting
cuddles while eating and will come and get you with meows and purrs
getting you to follow her to her food bowl for eat-cuddles. Milkshake
is a small, gentle cat with lots of energy forever chasing leaves and
paper-balls around. She is very entertaining and often sprints up and
down the hallway chasing herself, or our other cat. Milkshake will
greet you when you return from work, shopping or just when you get up
in the morning with purrs, meows and weaving in and out between your
legs. She enjoys our garden lying around in the grass but doesn’t
wander far away. When she returns from a stint in the garden she will
meow to let you know she is back and ready for some food-cuddles. She
is a very lovely, gentle cat that will suit most households. She has
bonded well with our male cat, so I believe she would be fine in a
household with other cats.

G.G. (White & Tabby on the right in photo) was the last kitten to be caught & he also was not
happy about his capture. He has dealt with being caught by almost immediately going to sleep
on your chest when picked up. He still will go to sleep on you if he is not happy or sure what
is happening to him - he went on a display day for DCH to a rescue friendly petshop & he fell
asleep on anyone who picked him up. He originally grumbled when he was was picked up & gained
the name Grumpy Guts (G.G. for short) but now he purrs when he is picked up. He does not like
going to bed at night & is extremely good at the game of "Catch me if you can" & then happily
settles down for his dinner. He loves to play with a stick with a ribbon tied on the end of it.
G.G. is the complete opposite to his brother in size. He is built like a tank & because of this
finds it difficult to climb things even though he does try to keep chasing his siblings when they
climb up on something. He will often sit upon his haunches like a meerkat when he wants to see what is going on.

of a building but only her head & front legs fitted in so her bottom & tail was hanging out - poor
little thing got such a shock when she was pulled out as she thought she couldn't be seen. A very
mischievous little girl who loves to play in the water bowl & leave wet patches everywhere. She is
smaller than her siblings & has a very spotty fur.

Hi, My name is Jessica. I came into DCH foster care at about 3 weeks old as I did a silly thing. I was born in a produce store & I went off wandering away from my mum on my own & found myself under a pallet that was just about to be lifted by a big machine. Just as well the driver saw me & he was a nice man and picked me up & put me in a box with a warm towel. I was so lucky he saw me as I would have been squashed by the prongs on the fork-lift. I was also lucky that they knew my foster carer & she knew how to bottle feed kittens & she looked after me till I was big & healthy.
I love playing with other cats & kittens. When I was smaller I loved chasing my tail as it has a little light coloured bit on the end. After catching my tail a few times I realised that it was attached to me and biting it as I caught it hurt, so I rarely do that any more - now I chase the other cats tails or the dogs tail. My favourite toy is a piece of bamboo with a ribbon tied on the end. I love to jump high trying to catch the ribbons but I also love to drag the stick around & I can even maneuver it through the cat tunnel. I also love to chew up pieces of paper & I carry out the toilet roll centre when someone puts it on the floor - they are fun to chew up also.
I am a fairly smoochy girl when there are no other cats around & will spend time with the people in my family, but if there are other cats around I would rather play with them, so I may be better as an only cat.
I do have one problem - I don't like taking tablets, or being treated with any other medications, so my foster mum wraps a towel around me so I can't struggle, & then she gives me my medication eg:worming tablets.
I'm a very clever girl also, and also like to get my own way & also like to have the best sleeping place. When it is cold I like to crawl into peoples clothing to keep warm - you can see how cute I look in the picture of me - I had climbed into a lovely warm wool shirt, & had my picture taken.

Ruby is the most affectionate cat you could ever meet, she is very mellow and is great around other cats and kids, nothing seems to bother her at all.
Unfortunately Ruby ended up in the pound heavily pregnant and with an injured back leg.
She has since seen a vet who has told me, that it is a old injury that was never treated, so now poor Ruby will forever walk with a limp.
Ruby will not be able to go to her new home until her kittens are weaned, about another 6 to 8 weeks but inquiries are welcome now.

Not being a pushy cat, Mischka will politely request cuddles by sitting by

She has a sensitive stomache so a good quality dry biscuit in the morning and
some seafood tinned food of an evening keeps her very happy. She loves to be

of other cats but would be okay as an 'only' cat as long as someone was happy to spend
time playing with her. She also loves to watch you cook and sits on her carer's
windowsill watching the dinner preparations. Pricillia is 100% litter trained and learning

Mo is the sweetest, most beautiful and affectionate senior citizen you will ever meet. He loves to be brushed and stroked and will sit there for hours while you pamper him.
He adores attention and TLC and will lie on his back purring his heart out for a brush and a tummy rub. Mo is still very playful and don't be fooled by his age, he runs, jumps and plays like a kitten at times!
At 10 years young, Mo was abandoned and left to die by his previous owner, severely neglected and starving.
Mo lives with his foster carer, 2 children, a gentle cat friendly dog and 2 adult cats who are also Himalayans.
He is not fazed by any other animals as long as they are not aggressive and he will fit in to a home with existing pets and/or children. Mo is quite afraid of my 4 year old son though and would best be adopted by a family or individual with older children.
Mo will only be adopted to the very best of homes and preferably to an individual who has knowledge of the Himalyan breed and care. He will need a family with time to pamper him and give him lots of love and he will reward you with his sweet and affectionate purrsonality.
Unlike most Himalayans, Mo is not double coated so his beautiful fur is quite easy to maintain. His care will involve brushing at least once a day which he absolutely adores and he will need to be an inside cat only as he is quite afraid of the outside world.
Mo is litter trained, desexed, wormed, flea treated, microchipped and vaccinated and he is available for adoption now.
Mo needs to stay on a high quality diet as he has had food allergies in the past but healthwise, Mo has had a full veterinary check and he is very healthy with no issues.

Bill and Ben were found on a farm where they faced a sad life with very little
food and no care, when they came into care they were very frightened but as much
as they hissed and growled they have never tried to bite or scratch, they are now
friendly little boys after they get to know you and love to be stroked and cuddled
and are ready with a very grateful purr.
Bill and Ben are becoming so cute, no growling and hissing any more, and Bill the larger
who was more scared rubs around my legs and flops down for belly rubs. I'd have to say
they're the gentlest cats with absolutely no claws or mouthing us, even in play. They both
purr when picked up and mostly come when called, love their food - probably too much, they
got weighed today and are 2.9 and 3.3 kilos, so i do think i need to cut down on the dry
food a bit! it's been really rewarding having them go from hiding and hissing, to now being
like any other cat, I do think billy might not be suitable for small children as he still is
a little wary of things and so non aggressive that they might be a little overwhelming for
him. Bill has the tiny squeak and Ben the big miaow!

This gorgeous boofa boy sure is a clown. He just loves people and has a big rumbly
purr which he uses constantly. Winding legs and head butting are his specialty,
he will flop himself on the floor if you are standing or on the lounge if you are
sitting just for some head rubs and scratches. He should be fine in a home with older
children, he also is totally fine with our large dogs. He has shown some dominant behaviour
towards other kittens so may not suit a multi cat household. He is currently indoors and is
very clean with his litter and loves using his scratching post.

Chopper is a medium haired black and white kitten with the same golden eyes.
He has a white chin and his front feet have white on only the toes and his back
feet have little white boots. As he gets older, he is now getting a beautiful
frosting of grey/white on the back of his back legs and tail plus faint tabbie
stripes on his sides. Temperament wise he is very playful and rowdy. Loves to
play with his friend Marley and considers my old cocker spaniel a mate as well.
He loves to rub all over her, play with her feet and tail and eat her dog food.
He doesn't know he is any different to her. So caution will need to be used
when introducing a family dog to him who is not used to cats as he doesn't have

Named after the kind gentleman who rescued him on a construction site, Lloyd is a
very playful, loving kitten. This gorgeous kitten is MR PERSONALITY !!! When he
came into care he was understandably a little shy and apprehensive but now that he
has settled in, he is an absolute joy. He chases around the house at 100 miles an
hour. He loves playing with the other cats and doesn't have any issues with any of
them. If the others don't want to play with him, he will find something to play with.
He loves "hunting" and nothing amuses him more that pouncing on your leg as you walk by.
This little fella doesn't play with claws, he is very gentle. He loves to be near a
human and is not adverse to a cuddle. However, he does not like to be picked up.
In the evening he is first on the bed. He will cuddle up after a little play time and
sleep next to his carer the entire evening. He has a lovely friendly personality and
would fit in to any loving home.
