Bellie
came to us a few years ago as a very emotionally damaged cat due to the
severe abuse he had endured.
He has come along way since then & will sit on your lap,
especially
when it is cold. He also loves to curl up on the lounge.
He is great at catching rodents & would make an excellent farm
cat
where he could go inside & outside whenever he wanted to.
He will need to have outside access available to him as he absolutely
panics if he thinks he is cornered as that it what happened when he was
being captured to be tortured.
Bellie would love to be able to sit on the verandah with a loving owner
& watch the sun go down.
He would only be a suitable cat for someone who understands behaviour
management problems with cats & is happy to continue his
journey to recovery which he has been having with us.

Frank
is an outgoing, playful and affectionate boy that loves playing with
his toys and his foster sisters. Due to severe abuse when a small
kitten he has had to have the majority of his tail amputated. This has
not affected him at all and he will have no lasting effects from this.
Frank is not keen on being left on his own so would make an ideal
companion for another playful cat. He is fully litter trained but would
probably not suit an indoor only life.

is a playful and affectionate girl who spent the first few weeks of her
life on her own. This has made her more than a little cautious around
strangers but with some gentle encouragement she quickly comes around.
Pippi loves to chase things, especially cockroaches, and she loves

own and so would need another feline friend for company.

Mickey was born in the pound and was taken into
care with his mum and brothers and sister when he was 2 days old. He
adores his brother as well as the other cats he lives with. He seems a
little shy at first but soon comes around and loves to be patted. He
has a loud purr. As he is predominately white, he needs to be protected
from the sun so he is more an indoors cat and doesn’t wish to roam. He
would make a great pet but would prefer a quiet
home as he is not used to a noisy household. He has been in care for
nearly 1½ years.

was the last kitten to be caught & he also was not happy about
his capture. He has dealt with being caught by almost immediately going
to sleep on your chest when picked up. He still will go to sleep on you
if he is not happy or sure what is happening to him - he went on a
display day for DCH to a rescue friendly petshop & he fell
asleep on anyone who picked him up. He originally grumbled when he was
was picked up & gained the name Grumpy Guts (G.G. for short)
but now he purrs when he is picked up. He does not like going to bed at
night & is extremely good at the game of "Catch me if you can"
& then happily settles down for his dinner. He loves to play
with a stick with a ribbon tied on the end of it.
G.G. is the complete opposite to his brother in size. He is built like
a tank & because of this finds it difficult to climb things
even though he does try to keep chasing his siblings when they climb up
on something. He will often sit upon his haunches like a meerkat when
he wants to see what is going on.

Hi, My name is Jessica. I came into DCH foster care
at about 3 weeks
old as I did a silly thing. I was born in a produce store & I
went
off wandering away from my mum on my own & found myself under a
pallet that was just about to be lifted by a big machine. Just as well
the driver saw me & he was a nice man and picked me up
& put me
in a box with a warm towel. I was so lucky he saw me as I would have
been squashed by the prongs on the fork-lift. I was also lucky that
they knew my foster carer & she knew how to bottle feed kittens
& she looked after me till I was big & healthy.
I love playing with other cats & kittens. When I was smaller I
loved chasing my tail as it has a little light coloured bit on the end.
After catching my tail a few times I realised that it was attached to
me and biting it as I caught it hurt, so I rarely do that any more -
now I chase the other cats tails or the dogs tail. My favourite toy is
a piece of bamboo with a ribbon tied on the end. I love to jump high
trying to catch the ribbons but I also love to drag the stick around
& I can even maneuver it through the cat tunnel. I also love to
chew up pieces of paper & I carry out the toilet roll centre
when
someone puts it on the floor - they are fun to chew up also.
I am a fairly smoochy girl when there are no other cats around
&
will spend time with the people in my family, but if there are other
cats around I would rather play with them, so I may be better as an
only cat.
I do have one problem - I don't like taking tablets, or being treated
with any other medications, so my foster mum wraps a towel around me so
I can't struggle, & then she gives me my medication eg:worming
tablets.
I'm a very clever girl also, and also like to get my own way &
also
like to have the best sleeping place. When it is cold I like to crawl
into peoples clothing to keep warm - you can see how cute I look in the
picture of me - I had climbed into a lovely warm wool shirt, &
had
my picture taken.

'My name is Suicre (pronounced Sook-rah) and I am a
very pretty
tortoise shell with tabby patterns that makes me a tabby-tortie or
torbie. I have lovely green eyes and a beautiful white chest which I
love you to pat when I am in the mood. I will let you know cos I will
simply come and lie in front of you! I am now settled in with my new
foster family and I now like spend time in the small enclosed garden at
the back where my new favourite sport is chasing lizards and insects. I
am an active and curious cat but not a very courageous one. The front
yard looks interesting but I find it a bit intimidating and although I
sometimes follow my foster daddy around to the front yard, I run back
to the house if I see or smell something I don't like. I am lot more
comfy in the smaller backyard and of course indoors. I like to play and
explore and sleeping under the blanket in bed with my foster daddy. I
like my chin and cheeks stroked more than my head and I don't like
being carried. I have a good appetite but I prefer to eat in portions
like before I go out and play and leave a snack to finish afterwards.
On nice sunny days I spend most of my time outside and sleep inside. I
am a fun little companion to have around. In addition to Suicre, I also
respond to 'Suki' and also 'Susu'. I have a sweet voice and can be
talkative.'

puppy.
Because of Mizuno's habit of walking in front of your feet and weaving
around your feet when you are walking, he would probably not
be suitable for a family with very young children, or for someone who
is unstable on their feet.

Bo ended up at the local pound after being picked
up as a stray.
With no Microchip he had 7 days to find a Home or Rescue before
his time was up. Luckily for him a DCH carer seen him and took him
home where he has been awaiting his Forever Home since. Bo is a
friendly young man that would be fine with another cat but has only
just met my dogs and is still getting to know them so a calm and gentle
dog would be best. Bo is only a small cat and won't grow any bigger, he
enjoys his pats very much and would like to find a home with a caring
family that will give him time to settle into their home.

This is one cute
feline, full of curiosity and so very affectionate. Once that
purr motor starts it gets louder and louder – she adores head rubs and
will happily cuddle up next to you or on you and maybe even give you a
sandpaper kiss or ten. Her fur is silky soft and very low
maintenance. She is also great with other cats and not at all
worried about our dogs. Very clean with her litter habits and
loves to use the different scratching posts we have around the
house. She will give years of love, affection and good
company to the lucky person who adopts her. She doesn’t
particularly like to be held so a family with young children is
probably not ideal. Available to a loving indoor home.

Fairyfloss

Fairy Floss came into my care when she was 2 weeks
old from Kogarah
Vets where she had been dumped riddled with fleas & worms.
After Ben the vet had treated her she still had hair loss &
dermatitis from the fleas & needed bottle feeding as she was so
young.
As you can see from the photos, Fairy Floss has thrived and is now
ready for her next adventure to find her forever home.
She is a beautiful, curious, playful absolutely adorable little kitten.
Because she was bottle fed she loves cuddles & kisses &
is a
very affectionate little girl.

Suzi and Longshanks are looking for their forever

They are both beautiful, clever, playful and affectionate, with Suzi
being somewhat more fiesty and Longshanks more cuddley.
Longshanks has long fur which will need to be
groomed as he matures. They
both love their scratching post and batting their toys around the
floor. They love to chase each other around and even jump up in the air
at each other, which is amazing to see! They will also play fight and
while Longshanks might meow if Suzi is being particularly fiesty,
he is
usually smiling and will launch himself back at her if she releases him
or he breaks free. It will be better if they are kept
indoors.

Kenya, the baby boy of Calli, is a real mummy's
boy. Slightly bigger and darker in coloring to his sister. He was the
first of the two to enjoy the best of both worlds, solids and mums milk
still. He is a real character and will find ways to get stuck in
between anything. Then cry and cry until Calli or foster career comes
to the rescue. Kenya is still a little reserved with others apart from
mum, sister and foster mum. However very very sooky when eventually
comfortable with people. Once he knows you, he will come and greet you
at the door when you get home.

Calli

Calli was found dump, pregnant and vets predicted
she was only around 6
months old herself. A nice passer by found her and took her to the vet
where she then came into the care of DCH. Calli has been a wonderful
young mum to her two babies Kenya (boy) and Kokoda (girl). Calli even
tried to take on a orphan kitten to, however the orphan was to sick and
week to suckle.
Calli herself is a beautiful girl. Loves all people, being picked up
and held on your shoulder and lots of cuddles. She will head but your
face when picked up and follow you around. Just to be with you and see
what your doing. Calli has been living with a budgie and has never
tried to climb the cage or attack the bird.

Piccolo

The little gorgeous Piccolo was surrendered into
the care of DCH as
sadly his owner could not have pets anymore. He is an attractive young
man and has a great personality and charm to match those looks. This
must of come from the love and care of his original owner!! He is
currently residing with Calli, Kenya and Kokoda.
After approximately 24 hours of little Piccolo rolling on his back and
blinking his eyes (as felines do to make friends), he found a playmate
in Kenya. Kokoda and Calli appeared to not be able to resist his charm
either and soon after followed suit. He now has the little family so
wrapped around his little paws, he joins in on bath time from mum cat
Calli, playtimes with the siblings (Kenya and Kokoda) and all 3 babies
sleep curled up together on foster mums bed. Piccolo loves humans as it
seems his original owner housed him quite young. While he is very
playful he loves cuddles. He will purr when sleepy and find you laying
on the lounge in the evening to comfort him. While he sleeps on or next
to you. His favorite spot being your chest and neck. Piccolo would suit
a house with other cats or a only cat household easily! Or if you we're
looking for a not so likely duo, Piccolo and Kenya could be playmate

He is not frightened of much and seems to be trying to teach his step
siblings that the lawn mowing man is not so scary.

Pickle was Surrendered to the local pound with 16
other cats by his owner, upon arrival he was filthy and covered in so
many fleas that you could see them crawling all over him. He has not
had a great life so far and we are looking to rehome him to a family
that will let him settle into their home and give him so much love and
affection.
Pickle is a nice boy that dosent mind being picked up and likes a pat
and scratch behind the ears very much. He had been tested for Feline
Aids and is Negative, he is now Desexed, Vaccinated, Microchipped, Flea
Treated and Wormed and is a much happier boy for it!

 I'm pretty sure
Finn was the runt of the litter - he was so tiny and frail when he came
to us with the Flu,
Finn
is a big time smooch. He just loves cuddling up to Cats and humans
alike - if it's bed time he'll be snuggling someone! This handsome boy
has an easy to maintain short coat, a very pink little nose.
He
will be best suited as an indoor cat to avoid skin cancer. Finn is a
very clever boy but a little too brave and curious for his own good.
Along
with his loud purr Finn is a bit of a talker - gets excited at
dinner time and gets very sad and lonely if left alone at night. Finn
is such a special little guy and he really deserves a forever home, I
know he'll make the right person happy. Someone who will treat him
kindly and give him lots of cuddles at night so he's not alone in the
dark.

was found at the local shops locked in a cat carrier with his brother
Puddin and their mum. Dumped by their owners who forgot that mum was

up at the local pound where their owners were called, they didnt want them back so surrendered them to the pound.

way into DCH's care, Buster was underweight, full of worms and flea's
and just generally wasn't looked after. He is now enjoying foster care
